Janani Sridharan
Founder of AI Circle Basel
Janani is a freelance consultant, facilitator and community builder based in Switzerland. She works at the intersection of technology, governance and social impact. Beginning in grassroots activism and social accountability work in India, her career has since spanned government, research institutions, nonprofits and international organisations. Today she conducts technology audits, independent reviews and digital capability assessments for mission-driven organisations, combining interviews, documentary evidence and systems analysis to identify hidden bottlenecks, competing incentives, governance gaps and assumptions that no longer hold true. Her work is grounded in a belief that successful technology depends as much on people, power and organisational realities as it does on tools. Janani is also the founder of AI Circle Basel, teaches Carnatic music in the evenings, is a member of two Swiss a cappella choirs, and a mother whose experiences of activism and motherhood were the subject of an award winning documentary film.
