Dr. Maureen Ayikoru

Senior Lecturer in Sustainability and Business Ethics, Royal Holloway, University of London, UK

Dr. Maureen Ayikoru is an interdisciplinary researcher focusing on sustainability, institutions, and social innovation. Her recent research, centered on SDG 3, has examined vaccine hesitancy among healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also undertaken research on institutions, examining their role in facilitating or dismantling structural inequalities through projects and supervised doctoral work. In the area of social innovation, Maureen’s recent project, funded by Grand Challenges Canada, linked SDG 3 and SDG 4 to develop a multimedia storytelling toolkit for adolescent reproductive health rights and education in Ugandan secondary schools. Her research is published in journals such as Tourism Geographies, Social Science and Medicine, Academy of Management Learning and Education and Tourism Management. Maureen serves on the editorial board of Academy of Management Learning and Education, and she is certified Carbon Literate by the Carbon Literacy Project
